Kirloskar

Last Tuesday I met a sales representative of Indian-made power generator. In fact, I am not quite familiar with this product. But anyway I came to meet him. After waiting for some time at starbuck, we finally met and headed to another suitable place. It was five of us, so need a bigger space though.
Starting with the introduction of the product which manufactured by Kirloskar Oil Engines Limited. The Product itself is a diesel-engine power generator. Whoa, this is not just like selling burgers. This could take lots of effort, an extra mile. This Generating Set or we usually call it genset, is vary range from house-used to factory requirement, from 2.5 kVA to 960 kVA. For your reference, to convert kVA to kW, the formula is :
kVA x PF = kW
PF is a power factor an AC electric power system is defined as the ratio of the real power to the apparent power, and is a number between 0 and 1 (frequently expressed as a percentage, e.g. 0.5 pf = 50% pf). Real power is the capacity of the circuit for performing work in a particular time. Apparent power is the product of the current and voltage of the circuit. Due to energy stored in the load and returned to the source, or due to a non-linear load that distorts the wave shape of the current drawn from the source, the apparent power can be greater than the real power, as quoted from wikipedia.
There you have it. Now you know a bit about genset capacity. In this case Kirloskar product use PF 80% assumption to convert kVA to kW. So for 2.5 kVA, it can provide 2 kW or 2,000 watt of electricity which almost equal to my house. I used 2,200 watt for house electric consumption, in order to supply energy for 2 A/Cs, 2 TVs, a Microwave, a Washing machine, a Fridge and lights.
This genset also has a silent gensets with air and liquid cooled. It passes Euro II and Euro III standard for emission control and sound pollution. It can be used in extreme weather condition, in snowy mountain to wet off-shore operation, and it's proven. Customization is available at clients' request. Good after sales service and spare part availability. All of that could come less than European made gensets. Is it?
Well time will tell. I still study the feasibility and business projection. Hopefully can make it work well.

Posting your blog from free article sites

Just read more articles from free articles websites. It's interesting to find that we could get so many sources for our post. Tons of articles to be chosen, from many different kind of categories and the best thing is; it's FREE. Most friends of mine get this articles to be posted. Need to remember we should consider copyright. Yes there is such thing as recognizing author. Can you imagine the real author of the article, spending hours sit and think about what to write? It's hard to do such work.
I guess what we could do is get quotes from the articles and rewrite it. Copy-paste is a tool to simplify our work, but not to re-publish somebody else's articles. If happens to be working using MS words, there is a tool to make a summary for the article we choose. Use 'Auto Summarize' in the 'Tools' menu. There you can custom percentage of summary you need for then you add more, or just done summarizing.
For me I had enough article to be 'chewed' form articlecity and goarticle. It's my turn to create my own article and publish in my blog.
Just remember to post your site! Read More......

AIDA

Like in the real world, we still need to promote our product, in this case our site or blog. Based on theory, it’s all started by deciding your objectives. This is important to identify your goals, otherwise you might end up going nowhere. Either money or personal satisfaction, it’s all back to you. That is your own personal goals.

Next you need to know what you want to say by identifying your Unique Selling Proposition (USP). Finding your USP could also be achieved by finding your niche keyword. That could become one of your USP. Then start building your site or blog. This time you could get a free blog or paid domain and template web design or customize site. Now fill up this site, give your audience the best you can. After all there are lots of offers that may look alike your site.

Other thing to consider is ‘AIDA’ formula. I remember this on college. You might need to read carefully and understand it.

Remember ’AIDA’ - use your material to:

  1. Get your customer’s Attention – Promote your site or blog so others may aware
  2. Keep them Interested – Let them come and see to generate traffic
  3. Generate a Desire – Download, browse and admire your site or even bookmark it
  4. Encourage them to take Action – Finally they might click to one of your ads

Keep this steps as one of your consideration in communicating your site. Read More......

Viral Marketing on the Internet

Marketing phenomenon that facilitates and encourages people to pass along a marketing message considered as the definition of viral marketing (marketingterms.com). The assumption is that if such an advertisement reaches a "susceptible" user, that user will become "infected" (i.e., sign up for an account) and can then go on to infect other susceptible users.
Among the first to write about viral marketing on the Internet was media critic Douglas Rushkoff in his 1994 book Media Virus. It depends on a high pass-along rate from person to person. If a large percentage of recipients forward something to a large number of friends, the overall growth snowballs very quickly.
The viral 'thing,' whatever shape or form it takes, has to be highly provocative in some way. This, of course, is easier said than done, otherwise we'd all be drowning in these things.
On the implementation this viral marketing techniques may generate traffic. Few samples on this technique include:

  • Create a widgets ; a plugin that other people can use on their site or blog.
  • Video Puzzle ; create a short video where the user has to identify 10 hidden things. This video can be distributed via the Internet (e.g. YouTube).
  • Treasure hunt ; hold a scavenger hunt (Internet or real world).
  • Easter egg ; create an a secret application, game, or video within your website or product and leak the access information to the public.
  • Mystery ; an online mystery, which visitors can participate in and help solve.
  • Challenge a friend ; create an online game where people can challenge each other.
  • Tell a secret ; if you're launching a product or about to offer a discount, tell a few blabber -mouths or forums.
  • Build teams ; a game in which you allow people to build teams by recruiting friends. Once the team is built you can compete against other teams.
  • Benefit through friend ; if you invite a friend and they accomplish a set task, you both benefit.

Quoted from Edward Dron, 4 simple rules for viral marketing are :

  1. Simple to Understand - if you can’t describe the concept in one sentence, it’s probably not going to work.
  2. Simple to Use - keep it dead simple for the user to use - life is complicated enough.
  3. Simple to Find - seed your viral marketing campaign (blogs, emails, ads, websites, etc) and make it easy to find.
  4. Simple to Share - make it easy for people to tell others.

If your campaign can accomplish these four simple things, your viral marketing idea has a much better chance of being click worthy.

Start by Finding Keyword

First thing to start in affiliate marketing is to find your keyword. I spent some time to go to forums, join classes and workshops. It has to start from finding your keyword. Guess what, it’s not as simple as it seems. Well for some probably. You start to find your keyword that you like, for instance your hobby. Sometimes it turns out that this keyword does not have good traffic. Instead, you need to find more ‘sellable’ keyword which you may not familiar with.

Most SEO's would confirm that the most important thing which is required for your site content is the selection of the right keywords. If you select the wrong keywords, you may generate a large amount of traffic but this will not end up in sales. Sometimes the wrong keyword selection may give you no traffic at all. Both of these cases will be trouble for any online business.

When keyword tracker entered the picture, things become easier. Now, you can plug in a few keywords using word tracker tool, and the web-based service will provide you with keyword data and ideas for more keywords. This might help your business immensely. This tool will also assist you in analyzing which keyword is being searched more and has done well in the last 24 hours at each of the major search engines. One of the tools I use is keyword tool from google. They can help you to find your keyword, your own keyword or from your favorite website.

Different web based services will also give you ideas for keywords that might be favorable for your business. Some people also had to get other search term tools which were the only hub for keywords at that time.

So now start your engine, do your research and find your keyword.

Welcome www.theoaja.com

This is my first website domain. I'm very excited. This whole process as a result after joining Asian Brain. I finally had the guts to start my site on my own. This Wednesday I decided to buy my own domain. I bought from Asian Brain Domains. Why I choose this is simply because I learned from them. Then after I check my account Thursday morning, it's already there. So I quickly open the blogger account and customize it. Go to my 'Settings' menu and click on 'publishing' sub menu. In here I switch my publishing to custom domain. If you do not have your own domain yet, you can purchase through Blogger, but if you have one already, then it's fine. Just read all instruction carefully and thoroughly.
There are some steps you need to do, if you purchase domain not from Blogger. You have to change the CNAME on the DNS of your domain. Luckily Blogger already provide the comprehensive tutorial. As newbie like me, it's quite easy to follow. After I change the CNAME, it took roughly 2 hours later to take effect. In the mean time, I didn't change my domain yet on Blogger. I waited after the CNAME changed.
After that I go back to 'settings' and 'publishing' menu again and change to my new domain directly.
VOILA, it works. Read More......

Scheduled Post

This post is actually typed on June 18th, 2008. But I plan to publish it on the next day. Let's try!

Hooray, I made it.
I passed this trial. For some or probably most of you may think that it's a simple thing to do. But it is a completely new experience for me. Even though I have other blog before, but I never knew that we could scheduled its publishing. After I went to a workshop last weekend, I learned that this feature is actually exist. They gave example in wordpress though. So I tried on blogger and made it.
It is very simple. On the bottom of your posting box, you will find "post option" menu that you can click. After you click, it will expand just like this:

Then you only need to change the post date and time. Don't forget to click Publish Post when you finish.
I find this feature very useful for me, because I might not on-line all the time, but I intend to have my blog posted regularly. Read More......

Quit your day job

Last week I found this site that I thought could help me in internet marketing, http://www.quityourdayjob.com/, which run by Jeremy Palmer. Well it did. After spending some time there, I joined his Black Ink Project. This is a training forum, sort of workshop on internet marketing. They have conference on scheduled day which then informed to every member to their email. Unfortunately, I couldn't be on the conference, but I could catch up all the references and even the video presentation later. I have downloaded some modules, and I find it very useful and applicable.
In summary, you've got nothing to lose. Get all the knowledge and meet new people, and at the end of the day, you might be rewarded.

Asian Brain

After surfing, browsing and even googling (Wow, now a brand become a verb) for quite some time, I finally join Asian Brain (AB) on May 29th, 2008 to learn more on internet marketing. Well it's over 2 weeks ago, but I think this could become one of my milestone. I was skeptical about internet marketing years ago. So I searched hard on this topic and resulted that people may success too. Luckily Asian Brain had a special promo which I quickly joined.
For the past two weeks, it was a life-changing experience. I read 1st-month module on AB and it was fantastic. Ms. Anne Ahira, CEO of Asian Brain, and team were giving step-by-step tutorial on how to start your internet marketing. Plus they have a great community. I had a perfect moment as they were scheduled to have a workshop on the June 14th, 2008. I was delighted and joined the workshop straight away.
What I got after the workshop is HEADACHE. I only understand a few, not even half of it, I guess. Even though I was familiar with internet, but this time I was busted. Confusion is a start to get to know more. I chatted some of the participants, some were already an expert but some were still newbie, just like me. It was a great opportunity to meet them offline. Discussion and sharing were the main menu of the event. So thank God I could be there.
Then, I think my first step is practicing. Starting writing again on my blog. I need to have a momentum to keep online and post my blog. This is a start and hopefully can run well. I have my motivation, my tools and my opportunity, what else do I need? So help me God. Amin. Read More......
